It only makes sense then that a cheese company gets better as it ages. For over 65 years Hautly Cheese Company has been providing rich, flavorful cheeses to St. Louis grocery stores and delis. Since the day Grandpa Frank J. Hautly started his truck route in 1934, we have been committed to offering the finest products from the finest cheesemakers in the country. Because of his early success, Grandpa Hautly had to move his 'home office' to the Chouteau Cold Storage Building in the mid 1930's. His son, Harry B. Hautly returned from the U.S. Air Force in 1946 and joined the company. In 1959, we moved to our current location at 5130 Northrup Ave. on the "Hill". Over the years, Hautly Cheese has grown into a strong regional brand. St. Louis knows and loves cheese. And Hautly Cheese knows where to find just the right flavors for this town. Sure, it would be easier to find a food conglomerate with "One Size Fits All" products, but St. Louis deserves more. Premium cheeses require constant attention from caring cheesemakers. (Yes, they still exist!) We won't settle for anything less. As we begin an exciting expansion, the commitment to excellence remains as strong as ever. In addition to the Hautly family of products, Hautly Cheese continues to distribute fine cheeses and specialty foods for over 45 different companies, servicing the grocery stores in the St. Louis and Memphis markets. Today, the third generation of Hautlys, including siblings Alan Hautly and Barbara Fischer, are honored to carry on the family business, continuing a long tradition of quality and service. In fact, we're aging quite nicely! |
